The race delivers a truly unique experience for the triathlon enthusiast. Scenic trails, varied and challenging terrain, and a tasty Northwoods Barbeque Awards Presentation all hosted in nature's playground around Telemark Resort, Wisconsin.
The race site is Telemark Pointe on the scenic shores of Garden Lake approximately nine miles east of Telemark Resort on County Road M in Namakagon, Wisconsin (see a map to the race site here).
The swim course starts and finishes on a sandy beach on the shores of Garden Lake (part of Lake Namakagon). The swim is an out-and-back triangle course (for swim detail click here). Swimmers exit the water adjacent to the grassy transition area.
The bike course leaves the transition area on a trail, crosses County Road M, and follows a snowmobile trail approximately 2 miles to the Namakagon Trail Cluster, part of the infamous Chequamegon Area Mountain Bike Association trail system (visit CAMBA). The course exits the Namakagon Trail Cluster on Fire Road 203 and crosses County Road M to Garmisch Road. The course makes a right turn on Garmisch Road, crosses County Road D, follows the powerline trail for the last mile and then finishes in the transition area at Telemark Pointe (for bike detail click here).
The run course follows the same course as the bike the first two miles, then traverses scenic sections of the Namakagon Trail Cluster. The run course exits the trails at Namakagon Town Hall and heads east 0.8 miles on County Road M to the finish at Telemark Pointe (for run detail click here).
